Montes Folly 2006
This 100% Syrah is generous, deep, intense ruby red in color. On the nose the wine has lively black ripe fruit, hints of dark chocolate and a subtle toastiness. On the palate, the wine is robust, concentrated, velvety and dense. Tobacco and vanilla notes arrive on the finish. In all ways, this cult wine – the first Syrah in Chile – is truly a star.
Montes Alpha M 2007
Chile’s first ultra-premium wine. “M” is produced from grapes grown on the upper slopes of Montes Winery’s Apalta Valley Estate in the Santa Cruz Valley. A Bordeaux-style blend of 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Cabernet Franc, 5% Merlot, and 5% Petit Verdot, this intensely powerful wine with soft, round, solid tannins has a distinguished character with aromas of red fruits, cassis and a touch of cedar and cinnamon. In the mouth, the wine has delightful notes of vanilla and coffee, and a delightful, long, lingering finish with a pleasant and harmonious balance of fruit and oak.
Montes Napa Angel Aurelio’s Selection 2007
From the Napa Valley, this wonderful wine is full-bodied with ripe and silky tannins and a deep and intense dark red color, with a generous fruit expression with hints of blackberries, blueberries and black currants. Velvety in the mid palate, with nuances of perfectly integrated French oak featuring a very long and flavorful finish. Ready to enjoy now, this wine can be cellared for at least 15 years.
Montes Purple Angel 2007
A lush blend of 92% Carmenère and 8% Petit Verdot from Chile’s Colchagua Valley, this wine has sophistication, elegance, potency, and strength. Intense purple in color, it has distinctive and delicate hints of chocolate and cigar box aromas and on the palate, spicy wild berries. Purple Angel is ideal with meat and game such as venison, boar, leg of lamb, and duck. Cellaring potential is 10 years or more.
